The other side of the coin refers to Ephesians 6:11-18 and lists how Christians are to equip themselves: breastplate, helmet, shield, loins, feet, and sword. It also has the words “Put on the Whole Armor of God. On one side of the coin are two shields bearing the letters “RWH,” which stand for “Return With Honor.” This reminds the holder of the coin of the importance of not just serving, but serving honorably.

But now the idea has taken off in the marketplace.Ĭhurches and ministries are using the coin to encourage youth and others who need their morale lifted. At first they hoped chaplains would give it to soldiers and others in the military to boost their spirits and faith. Seeing its potential to serve as an encouragement in the Christian community, SymbolArts developed the Armor of God challenge coin. Spread encouragement through challenge coins.Ī popular tradition in both the military and public safety has long been the use of “challenge coins” that officers, soldiers, and safety personnel exchange, share, and collect.
